For the Love of Dorothy Dandridge

As I’ve stated before, Dorothy and Marilyn were great friends. but the two had to hide their friendship due to the racism that existed at the time. This is the only nown photo of the two together.

Dorothy Dandridge broke down racial barriers and set the path for black actresses. She become the first black female to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for her role in Carmen Jones. Hollywood couldn’t appreciate Ms. Dandridge simply because she was black. She will always be a legend in my eyes. The epitome of grace, class, beauty, and sophistication.

"If I were white, I could capture the world." ~ Dorothy Jean Dandridge
