For the Love of Dorothy Dandridge

Q:Thank you SO MUCH for this blog. Dorothy was an amazing icon of beauty, grace, and determination, and she still is! I always feel pity for her for what she went through in Hollywood just because of the color of her skin. It's a shame people still hold these racist, idiotic views today, it really saddens me. Anyway, Dorothy is my favorite besides Elizabeth Taylor and I am so excited to have found this blog. Thank you!!! xoxoxo ;)

Dorothy Dandridge broke down racial barriers and set the path for black actresses. She become the first black female to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for her role in Carmen Jones. Hollywood couldn’t appreciate Ms. Dandridge simply because she was black. She will always be a legend in my eyes. The epitome of grace, class, beauty, and sophistication.
