For the Love of Dorothy Dandridge

Q:Do you know what happened to the autobiography she was writing before she died? Also could you put a picture of the biography written by Donald Bogle up so that some of the newer fans of DD can see there was a really good book written about her.

I wish I knew what happened to the tell all book that Dorothy was writing at the time of her death. We’re suppose to believe that Everything and Nothing: The Dorothy Dandridge Tragedy written by Ms. Dandridge and Earl Conrad is her true autobiography. I’ve read numerous reports and articles that state that the book she was working on was a tell all book about being black in Hollywood, and she allegedly received death threats from people in Hollywood because of this book.

And yes, I will certainly post a book of the biography written by Donald Bogle. I highly recommend newer fans to read that book.

Dorothy Dandridge broke down racial barriers and set the path for black actresses. She become the first black female to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for her role in Carmen Jones. Hollywood couldn’t appreciate Ms. Dandridge simply because she was black. She will always be a legend in my eyes. The epitome of grace, class, beauty, and sophistication.
