For the Love of Dorothy Dandridge

Q:Wow! I am intrigued by this woman. I wonder why anyone would want to do harm to her? I know her and Otto had a tumultuous relationship but I don't think he would do something like that.

Dorothy & Peter Lawford were planning to get married in 1953 but called off the wedding because they thought it would harm their careers. I recently found out that the 2 remained involved even when he became JFK’s brother in law. Peter was even suppose to speak at Dorothy’s funeral, but couldn’t because he was too emotional. He ended up divorcing his wife 3 months after Dorothy passed away.

Only a few close friends knew about this affair, but Dorothy was planning on going public with it in a tell all book. The book was never released. The “autobiography” that was released, Everything & Nothing: The Dorothy Dandridge Tragedy, wasn’t the real autobiography that Dorothy was working on at the time of her death…the tell all book was.  I’m thinking that this tell all book or her affair with Peter Lawford may be connected to Dorothy’s death.

Ok, sorry for the LONG response! I get excited when I talk about Dorothy Dandridge.

And thanks for following! I tumblr won’t let me follow back from this page, but I followed you this morning from my main page.

Dorothy Dandridge broke down racial barriers and set the path for black actresses. She become the first black female to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for her role in Carmen Jones. Hollywood couldn’t appreciate Ms. Dandridge simply because she was black. She will always be a legend in my eyes. The epitome of grace, class, beauty, and sophistication.
