Q:Omg, I knew about the suicide note but I didn't know that it didn't match her handwriting!! It makes it even more mysterious. She was about to get her career back on track and then this happened.

I had to do a little digging to find out that little known piece of information. There’s a LOT of info that isn’t widely known. Her death investigation was re-opened with rumors of Dorothy being murdered, but family asked the LAPD to just let the mystery of her death be buried with her.

Dorothy Dandridge broke down racial barriers and set the path for black actresses. She become the first black female to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for her role in Carmen Jones. Hollywood couldn’t appreciate Ms. Dandridge simply because she was black. She will always be a legend in my eyes. The epitome of grace, class, beauty, and sophistication.
